The Segugio Italiano is a well-mannered and diligent watchdog who keeps an eye on both the property and the owner. It is neither aggressive nor shy, but rather courageous and careful. The Segugio Italiano is a reserved breed.
It can adapt to any living condition if it receives adequate mental and physical exercise. The dog is available in two coat types: Pelo Raso (short hair) and Pelo Forte (wire hair). Within those coat varieties, the Segit is either fawn or black & tan with very little white showing on the coat. Both coat types shed, but only a little.
